6 Hacks to build your website faster in Squarespace

Today I’m going to show you some INCREDIBLE hacks that I’ve learned throughout these past 2 years and have helped me create over 40 websites efficiently and effectively!
If you implement any of these hacks the process of building your website will be so much faster, easier and most importantly strategic!

6 Hacks to build your website faster in Squarespace
Define your why. Define your website goals.
It's important to have this clearly before you even start building out a website.
What is the purpose of building out this website?
What do you want people to do when they land on your website?
If you don't have a goal, your website is not going to have a purpose. Therefore, it's not going to be strategic, it's not going to convert, and it's going to be useless. You have to have a goal defined.
Create your Vision
It’s essential that you know your colors and the fonts that you're going to be using before you even start building out a website because then it can get really messy and it will take you so much time to figure it out.
What I truly recommend is that you start with a mood board. To create this, go to Pinterest and start pinning your favorite images, and create your own mood board in Canva. After you have your mood board, you can go to coolors.co and create your color palette. Then, you can go to Google fonts and start selecting the fonts that go with your brand. And last but not least, you will add all these elements to a brand board (we actually have ones if you want to create your own brand board).

Create your Strategy
Grab a piece of paper and start writing down and defining the pages that you're going to need. For example, you're going to need a “Homepage”, an “About Me Page”, “Services Page” or a “Shop Page”, and a “Contact Page”. These are some of the basic pages that a website needs.
After you've defined your pages, define the content under each page. Start organizing the main elements under every single page (In the video, I’m showing you a Sticky Note Hack to organize your pages and subpages for your website).
Define your CTA’s for your Website
Define your CTAs, which is basically your call to action button. For example, after they land on my homepage, I want to take them to my services page so they can see what I provide and how I can help them. After they go to my services page, I want them to look at my portfolio so that they can see the work that I've created in the past. Next, I want to guide them to my testimonials page so that they know that my work is so valuable and that I've had amazing experiences with past clients. And I want to finalize that by taking them to my contact page so that they can book a call with me or inquire about working with me.
Have your content ready
Prepare your content (photos and copy) before you even start working on your website.
Photos will make or break your website 100%. If you don't have any high-quality photos of yourself or your services, go for some stock photos that you can find in unsplash.com (my favorite website for stock photos, and it’s connected to Squarespace), pexels.com and pixabay.com.
Before you start writing all your copy, you need to think about what voice you'll speak in. Is it going to be formal and professional, or are you going to be funny and sarcastic? So you needed to find the style. Then, remember to write all of your copy in this voice. Remember that less is always better. You don't want to overwhelm your clients with big paragraphs. Also, write like you’re speaking to them. So use words like “you” instead of “them.”
Another pro tip is to just set a timer for 30 minutes and start writing because we can get in our heads and it can appear like an overwhelming process. But it doesn't have to be just set a timer and start writing your content.
Build a wireframe in Canva before you start building out your website.
It’s simple and easy to do in Canva. Just select the size of 2500x1000px on Canva. Add elements such as squares to create banners to start dividing the canva. Next, add colors, images, and text (it doesn’t have to be the exact text that you’ll use, just something that will tell you that a text goes there).
Once you have your wireframe, you can simply go to your website platform, in my case Squarespace and just start building out my website, without having to guess if something's gonna look good or not.
Duplicate pages in Squarespace
Duplicating your pages in Squarespace is going to make the process so much faster because the colors will be there, the format will be there. All you have to do is change the images, the content, and the CTA, if needed.
