I believe that having processes for everything is key! Not only will this make you look like a professional but it will also make the whole journey so much more organized, easy and enjoyable! So today, I want to take you through my 2 Week Website Experience process and show you exactly what happens in every step of the way.

Let’s get started!

Step 01 | Discovery Call

The process starts with a potential client inquiring about my services. That’s when I then invite them to book a free discovery call with me. These calls are usually around 30 minutes long and I ask questions about their business, what their future goals are, what they want to achieve with a new website and the #1 thing they want/need their website to do. With these questions I evaluate if we are a good fit and if my services are right for them and will benefit them. I also go over my 2 Week Website Experience package and I explain step by step the whole process, the deliverables, and what I can offer them.

Step 02 | Onboarding Client

Once we finalize the call, I send my potential clients a proposal along with a contract and invoice. This proposal and contract clearly defines everything that is required from the client (which I call fun homework) plus everything they will receive from me! (aka a gorgeous client attracting and converting website!)

Then, if they decide to book with me they simply accept the proposal, e-sign the contract, and pay the 50% deposit. All done online, super duper easy! (Thank you Dubsado!!!)

Step 03 | Pre Work

From there, I send them a welcome email with their Welcome Package PDF outlining every single detail of the process and step-by-step instructions on how to compile their homework! This homework consists of completing a Brand & Style Questionnaire so that I can learn even more and dive deeper into their business, their brand, what their mission is, the style/tone that they’re envisioning…. etc. They also get to create a Pinterest Board that provides me with a visual representation of the direction that they are going for. Plus, this helps me have a better sense of what they are visually attracted to! And last but not least, I provide my clients with my Website Content Guide which helps them in the process of compiling their text (copy) and images for their website. This guide includes prompts that make it easier for them to come up with effective copy that will help attract their ideal clients.

Besides sending them their Welcome Package I also include a timeline outlining what will happen every single day during our 2 weeks and invite them to our client portal in Asana. This is where we keep all communication, deadlines, and links to their Google Drive folder which includes the questionnaire and Website Content Guide.

So in conclusion: they get a bunch of goodies from me on that initial welcome email!

FYI #1: Their homework is due before our website start day (this ensures that the website is completed in the 2 weeks). So usually clients book their start date 2 to 4 weeks in advance in order to gather everything they need for their upcoming website!

FYI #2: I take one client at a time so that means that in those 2 weeks you are my #1 priority. I work on nothing but your business!

Step 04 | Create

WEEK 1

MONDAY

Once the client completes the questionnaire, Pinterest board, and Website content I now go into actually building the site!

Monday of Week 1 is officially the start of our 2 Week Website Experience and I have a whole series of things planned out in my to-do list. I begin to study my client’s questionnaire, and go over all the content they just finished. Then, I begin the creative process by designing a mood board and color palette. I send both of these to my client by Monday afternoon and expect an approval or if any tweaks are required by Monday end of day.

Meanwhile, I spend the rest of the day creating a mockup version of their home page. This has been a game changer for me! I’ve found that my clients really do love when I take them into account in the beginning steps of the creative process. I make them feel empowered about the website that we are creating together.

TUESDAY

On Tuesday morning I complete and send the home page mockup. Client approves or requests any edits by Tuesday end of day. While the client takes the day to go over the mockup I begin to map out the website’s pages and create a strategy. I start by doing this on paper because I’ve found that it’s easier for me to create an effective client website journey by pen and then start mapping it out on Squarespace.

WEDNESDAY- FRIDAY

Aka IN THE ZONE days for me! During these days I go into actually building the full website page by page on Squarespace. I work meticulously to ensure the best possible site for you! I apply website design best practices to ensure that the end goal is met (whether it is to convert clients, get them into booking a call with you, visiting your shop page and actually making a purchase, subscribing to your newsletter… etc).

FRIDAY

By Friday COB I send my clients the first peek to their finished website and ask them to provide me with a list of edits by Monday morning. They have the whole weekend to carefully look at every page and piece of content I’ve created for them.

Step 05 | Refine + Final touches

WEEK 2

MONDAY

It’s feedback time! I receive the list of edits from my client in the morning and get to work! I usually complete these edits within 24-48 hours. And you know what the best thing is?

THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF EDITS!

We go through the feedback/edit process from Monday all the way to Thursday! So there’s plenty of time for the client to ask for any tweak they need and for me to create their perfect website.

While I’m applying the client’s feedback I also make sure to go over my Final Website Checklist to ensure the website is fully ready to go. This includes things such as applying SEO best practices, connecting domain and newsletter, making sure all links work, etc.

Step 05 | Launch!

FRIDAY

It’s finally LAUNCH DAY!!! On Friday morning I finalize every single detail to provide my client with the best possible website. I then film a step-by-step Squarespace video tutorial completely personalized on how to make any edits if required in the future such as: add text, update the blog, e-commerce shop, etc.

I want to make each and everyone of my clients feel 110% confident with their new website and have the capabilities of updating it on their own! (Even though I’m always here if you need me😉) I’m all about making my clients feel empowered!

To finalize the 2 Week Website Experience, the client makes their second 50% remainder payment, I walk them through purchasing a Squarespace plan and we launch their NEW WEBSITE!

How amazing was that?!!

The more I do this process the more positive feedback I get every single time! Here are some of the key points why my clients love the 2 Week Website Experience so much!

QUICK TURNAROUND

In only 2 Weeks you get your new beautiful site! (Again, I have to emphasize this is also possible because the content is due before the start date.)

GUARANTEED LAUNCH DATE

You will know with certainty your site launch date. This is so helpful if you’re wanting to promote the launch of your site in advance and have everyone on the boat with you for the countdown! Also, with our secure dates there are no project drag-ons. No one likes those never ending projects (and TBH they are so annoying!)

IT’S A HAND HELD EXPERIENCE

I will guide you by the hand throughout the whole process making it as smooth and easy as possible! Have any questions? I’m there for you. Need some advice on your website content? You bet I will help you! I will be there all the way from the start to the finish. You are my #1 priority (and only client) in our 2 week period so you will get my undivided attention 110% guaranteed!

ACCESS TO THE WEBSITE CONTENT GUIDE

My Website Content Guide has come really useful when my clients are compiling their homework. Not gonna lie, it can be a stressful process because you’re wanting everything to be perfect and trust me when I say that my guide will provide you with prompts that will make the process of writing your copy so freaking easy!

Have some more questions regarding my process or want to know how I can build a client winning website for your business? Well… let’s hop on a free discovery call! I would love to learn more about what you do and how I can help you up-level your business!
