How To Build Online Store in Squarespace (For Physical Products)

Iβm so excited about this tutorial because it will show you how to create your own online shop or e-commerce store so you can sell your physical products.
Quick note: If your planning to sell digital products, I have made a blog post & video to guide you as well.
Letβs get started!
How To Build Online Store in Squarespace (For Physical Products)
To build your e-commerce online store:
Click on Pages
Because weβre going to create a new page, youβre going to scroll down and create a page under the βnot linkedβ section.
Click on the plus (+) icon and select βProductsβ.
Give it a name, and youβre ready to start creating your products page.
To add your products:
Click the plus (+) icon and select βphysical productsβ.
Note: I recommend you using the classic editor because itβs much more organized and simple to use. But, if you want to give the beta editor a try, go for it.
Once youβre in the editor of your choice, upload your images. I strongly recommend for you to upload more than 1 image to give the customer options to see different aspects of what youβre selling.
Then, go ahead and write the name of the product (It would be easier for you if you have a google doc in hand where you have all the product information like name, price, and description, for you to copy and paste).
Then, when you click on pricing it will give you a number of options. Go ahead and put the price.
You can also put a sales price, but for that, Iβm going to show you how to do discount codes later on.
Plus, you can add the number of products that you have available, and if you donβt know how many you got or if itβs easy for you to restock in no time, you can select the option of βunlimitedβ.
Also, you can as many options as you would like. This will help you when you have the same product but with different colors or sizes. If you want to add more options, click on the plus (+) icon and type in your category. Then, add a subcategory, hit βenterβ and it will automatically add the category.
Now, go back to βitemβ so we can keep editing, and type in or paste your product description.
Next, go to βAdditional Infoβ and add here all the things that would benefit your customer for making the decision to buy this specific product. It could a more detailed description of the product, testimonial videos, tutorial on how to use, you name it.
Then, go to βOptionsβ and create your custom product URL (this will help you with SEO)
Next, go to βSEOβ option. Squarespace will automatically use the title and the description that you are using for your product. But, if you want it to be different, go ahead and change.
Click βSave & Publishβ
Congrats !! You have your first product !!
If you want to create another product, just click on the plus (+) icon and follow the same process.
But waiiit !
If you want to customize the layout or the way it shows the product on the page:
Go to βDesignβ in the main menu and click on βSite Stylingβ.
Then, click on the image and the menu will appear.
You can change the images from stacked to a slideshow.
You can change the thumbnail size and the aspect ratio of the image.
I strongly recommend for you to allow your customers to get a closer look at the product by enabling the image zoom.
You can also change the title, the description, the button, and everything thatβs on the products page by just clicking on where you want to edit.
And there you have it!!!!
Now you have set up your e-commerce page stress-free.
